On February 17, a wide celebration “Maslenitsa came, wiped out the winter from the yard” was held at the Starobilsk Children’s and Youth Library.

The students and employees of the Educational and Research Institute of History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences including Roman Bordyug, Iryna Borovenskaya, Pavlo Ivchenko, Valerii Pyzhov, Stanislav Sidorenko and Evgenia Shevtsova took part in the theatrical action.

Everyone who likes fun, laughter and entertainment came to the event! Harmful Mara stole Spring, hid it in a chest and with Yaga did not let go. Yaga fascinated the policeman Vasyl, turned him into a varenik. The buffoons summoned Winter to take off the spell. The children together figured out the riddles that Mara had prepared, and released Spring-Krasunia.

After that, the contest-entertaining program for adults and children continued, refreshments with pancakes, pies and vareniki. Everyone was pleased to treat each other.

The main event was the burning of the doll-motanka. This ritual symbolizes that everything burned in the hearth, reborn from the ashes to a new and better. The Maslenitsa festival was always a symbol of a new beginning. In spring nature dresses in everything new, and with it people leave all the old problems behind.

The holiday gave a bunch of fun, childish laughter, gay dances, perseverance and generous treats.

Delicious prizes for contest participants were provided by the Chairman of the Supervisory Council, People’s Deputy of Ukraine Vitalii Kurylo and the party “BPP” Solidarity “.
