Day of the State Emblem of Ukraine
19.2.2018
The Day of the State Emblem of Ukraine was celebrated at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
The history of the Ukrainian state cannot be imagined without the symbols that have become a life-giving spark for many fighters for the country’s independence and the embodiment of the centuries-old traditions of our people.
On February 19, 1992, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved the trident as the Small Emblem, considering it the main element of the large State Emblem of Ukraine. It is a symbol of the state, which passed a long and at the same time glorious path, with which the Ukrainian people affirmed the everlasting dream of statehood, conciliarity and independence.
Students of the College of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University celebrated the festive event with a festive flash mob. According to the youth, the event was initiated by student self-government with the goal of fostering respect for the state symbols of independent Ukraine.
On the eve of the holiday, students made a trident with the help of yellow-blue strips of paper, and prepared balloons.
Today, near the central entrance to the University, students unfurled the state flag, and the presenters congratulated those present on the occasion. In addition, young people read a poem, the author of which is the teacher of the College N.V. Klimenko.
As a sign of greeting to the friendly Europe, students launched yellow and blue balloons into the sky, on which the trident was fixed – the Small Emblem of our state.
