Our scientists-mathematicians visited Germany

Scientists-mathematicians of LTSNU have carried out a program of advanced training in Germany.

One of the ways to improve the qualification in accordance with the government program of our state is an internship in leading foreign scientific and educational institutions.

Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University expands the horizons of cooperation with the leading universities of different countries of the world. As part of the implementation of this program, teachers of the Educational and Research Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technologies are actively participating in professional development programs.

In 2017, Anatolii Zhuchok, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Algebra and System Analysis, passed a scientific internship at the Institute of Mathematics of Potsdam University. In cooperation with the leading algebraists of the Institute, a study was conducted in the field of modern algebra and a joint scientific publication was prepared.

During the internship, Anatolii Zhuchok read a course of lectures for PhD students and teachers, made several presentations at a scientific algebra workshop, visited scientific seminars and colloquiums that regularly work at the Institute. He was invited to the lectures of leading scientists of the Institute and a meeting on the defense of PhD dissertations.

From October 10 to October 13, 2017, the International Algebraic Conference dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the birth of the German mathematician Ulrich Knauer took place at the Institute of Mathematics of the Berlin Technical University. He has a worldwide scientific recognition as a scientist who received important results in the theory of semigroups; his monographs on algebraic graph theory are translated into foreign languages. The conference was attended by outstanding modern mathematicians from different countries of the world. Ukraine was represented by scientists from Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, Professor of the Department of Algebra and System Analysis Anatolii Zhuchok and Yurii Zhuchok. Representatives of the Luhansk region presented scientific reports that interested the participants of the conference and were recognized as having the prospect of further research. This, of course, is a positive incentive for the continuation of research by our mathematicians.

Visiting Potsdam University in the framework of a scientific internship and the Berlin Technical University in order to participate in the conference is undoubtedly a landmark event in the life of scientists. In their opinion, this was a scientific trip, rich in inspirational work, full of interesting meetings, events, new impressions and achievements. As a result, scientists have identified possible areas for further scientific cooperation with German colleagues in the field of algebra.
