15.2.2018
A meeting with representatives of the tourist company “Thomas Cook” was held at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
The Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism has been interacting with leading European travel companies for more than ten years. This makes it possible for university students to complete their internship abroad. The main goal of the international program is to provide active and initiative students with valuable practical experience as an important component in the formation of professional qualities in modern conditions.
In the current academic year, the University continued to deepen cooperation on organizing students for practice abroad. Yesterday our University was visited by representatives of the travel company “Thomas Cook”. Stella Typhoni and Rashid Cengiz met with LTSNU students and shared their professional achievements and practical experience in tourism with the audience.
The main event of the visit was an interview with students of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, during which the main criteria for selection of employees were singled out. A significant interest in foreign practice was shown by the youth of all university structural subdivisions.
Students, who will receive a positive recommendation for internship in Turkey, will be trained in the resort cities of the province of Antalya including Alania, Side, Kemer, Marmaris, Belek, Kundu. The internship program provides, at the expense of the host country, expenses for air travel, accommodation in a hostel for the duration of the internship, processing documents for obtaining a work visa, compulsory medical insurance, meals, providing a mobile phone with a SIM card of a local operator for internal communication.
According to the Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism Viktor Drel, overseas internship allows students to gain valuable professional experience, improve the level of foreign language proficiency, get acquainted with the methods of conducting tourism business and get additional funds to meet their own needs, realize their desires or pay for training.
