Dinner Party
14.2.2018
On February 13, a traditional “Dinner Party” competition was held in the hostel of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
The event was held at the initiative of the student council of the hostel of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology.
In addition to students of the IPP, students of the Educational and Research Institutes of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism as well as the Institute of History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences took part in the competition.
It is no secret that there is a huge variety of dishes and recipes in the world. Each national cuisine has its own characteristics: the use of certain products and methods for their processing, dishes, observance of specific traditions and even rituals in the consumption of food. The products that form the basis of the cuisine of a particular nationality depend on the natural features and geography of the locality. Our students presented the national cuisine of such countries: Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, Armenia, France, Turkey, Greece, China, Spain, etc.
Students and the jury tried borsch with pampushki, pancakes with different fillings, pancakes with sour cream, ravioli with dumplings, homemade sausages with fat, pizza, potatoes, meat; various cocktails, compote, sangria, juice, various sauces.
Each team decorated the room in a national style, chose the appropriate clothes, told about the traditions and peculiarities of the cuisine of each country.
As we can see, our world is so large, and so many people and ethnic groups inhabit it, that it is impossible to compile a complete picture of the recipes of the planet, but the university students coped with this and introduced all the guests to the national cuisine of different countries and peoples. It seems that we have made a visa-free travel around the world. The results of the “Dinner Party” contest were as follows:
- I place – 11th room “China”;
- II place – 18th room “Belarus”;
- III place – 20th room “Ukraine”.
The jury consisting of the Director of the ER IPP Olena Karaman, the deputy directors of the IPP, ICSTT, IHITSPS V. Pushko, M. Chumak, I. Zhurba presented prizes to the winners and thanked all students for interesting cognitive stories about each country and delicious dishes.
