Competition of declarations

10th of February 2018 at the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the State Institution “Lugansk Taras Shevchenko National National University”, the regional competition of declarations “The Poetry of the Folks all over the World” was compiled. Organizer of the competition is the Department of Roman-Germanic Philology.

The event was organized for students of 9-11 grades of comprehensive educational institutions of the Poltava region.

The competition was attended more than 120 representatives of regional educational institutions, such as the Suprunivka Educational Complex, Bila Tserkva Secondary School I-III degrees, Olena Pchilka Gadiach Gymnasium, Kurchenko Globino Gymnasium № 1, Golovachansky Educational Complex, Mykola Lysenko Grinkivska Secondary School of I-III degrees, Dykanka Secondary School I – III degrees, Komishnyanska Secondary School I-III degrees, Kremenchug Secondary School I-III degrees №22, Kremenchug School I-III degrees № 23, Mirgorod Secondary School №3, Novoselovska Secondary School I-III degrees, Petrivka Secondary School of I-III degrees, Petrovtsevka Secondary School of I-III degrees, Plockivka Secondary School of I-III degrees, Popivska Secondary School of I-III degrees, I.L.Oliynyk Reshetylivska Gymnasium, Rassoshentsi Gymnasium, Tereshky Secondary School, Khomutetska Secondary School № 1, Khorol Gymnasium and Vernadsky Shishaki Specialized School.

The honor of Poltava city was protected by the students of such educational institutions as Poltava Gymnasium № 13, Poltava Gymnasium № 17, Poltava Gymnasium № 21, Poltava Gymnasium №33, Poltava School № 18, Poltava School № 9, Poltava Secondary School № 34 , Poltava Secondary School № 27, Poltava Secondary School I-ІІІ degrees №37, Poltava Secondary School І-ІІІ degrees №38, Poltava School І-ІІІ degrees №4, Poltava Secondary School І-ІІІ degrees №5, Poltava Makarenko Regional Boarding school , Poltava Specialized School of І-ІІІ degrees №3 and Poltava City Multidisciplinary Lyceum №1.

This event was of an all-Ukrainian significance, since the competition was attended by representatives of the Kharkiv Specialized School of I-III degrees №132 and Sumy region (Okhtyrka Gymnasium, Okhtyrka Secondary School № 3), which testifies not only the regional but also the interregional level of the competition.

The years 2016-2017 were proclaimed as the Years of Foreign Languages in Ukraine, which is why the participants of the competition were able to demonstrate the best achievements of the art of poetry not only in Ukrainian but also in the languages of the Romano-Germanic group, in particular English, German, French and Spanish.

There were 5 sections during the competition at the Poltava University of Economics and Trade. Upon completion of the sections, the participants and their leaders had the opportunity to make a coffee-break.

As a result of the qualifying round, 3 finalists from each section were selected, which appeared in front of a highly skilled jury.

All participants of the poetry contest “The Poetry of the Folks all over the World” received certificates, and the winners also received prizes. All declarants confirmed their contribution to the development of the art of world poetry.

Throughout the competition between the participants, their leaders and the jury there was a friendly and warm atmosphere that allowed the students to make every effort to win.

The Department of Romance and Germanic Philology will continue to contribute to the replenishment of the treasury of the native culture and inspire the younger generation for new creative achievements.
