Results of the Bench Press Championship

The results of the Bench Press Championship of the Luhansk region were summed up.

It has already become a good tradition that the Luhansk Regional Powerlifting Federation (chairman of the Federation – head of Sports Disciplines Department of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports S.M. Galliy) together with the Department of Youth and Sports of the Luhansk Regional State Administration and the Institute of Physical Education and Sports hold all the competitions in powerlifting in the city of Kreminna in the sports complex “Olimp” for the third year in a row.  

It is very convenient for students and lecturers of the ER IPES to participate in organizing, conducting and judging the competitions in the city of Kreminna. Students have an opportunity to put into practice their knowledge gained during theoretical studies.

This time, more than 100 athletes from different cities and districts of Luhansk region came to take part in the Luhansk Region Championships in the classic bench press and bench press with the use of special equipment.

At the solemn opening ceremony of the competition, the head of the youth and sports sector of the Kreminna District Administration Oleksandr V. Kuzmenko and the Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports of the Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University Yuri M. Polulyashchenko addressed the audience with a welcoming speech.

Students and teachers of ER IPES demonstrated high results during the competition.

The teacher of the Sports Disciplines Department, MSU Mykhailo Shapovalov became a regional champion in the weight category of 120 kg both in the classic bench press and in equipment (235 kg and 322.5 kg). The second place with the result of 210 kg in the weight category of 120 kg was taken by the teacher of the Department of Olympic and Professional Sports, MSU Oleksandr Dubovy.

Champions among men in their weight categories were: master student of the IPES Serhii Dvortsov (w / c 66 kg, result – 160 kg), Mykyta Rodenkov (w / c 93 kg, 160 kg), MSUIC Serhii Parkhomenko  (w / c 105 kg, result – 235 kg), Stanislav Jos (juniors, w / c 93 kg, result – 152.5 kg).

Second place among juniors in the weight category of 83 kg was taken by the first-year student Ilya Voloshin (130 kg). Andrii Redko (I course) became the fifth in the w / c of 74 kg among juniors.

Polina Kocherova (Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University) won I place among juniors (52,5 kg) and second place among adults.

Serhii Zabavsky, Dmytro Morgoslip, Mykyta Nikishin, Vyacheslav Bystryansky, Svitlana Shcherbak, Oleksandr Bazaley, Lyubov Novikova, Vitalii Yurkov, Vitalii Kondratenko, Valeria Ryzhkova took an active part in the organization and judging of the competition.

All spectators and participants of the competitions received a lot of emotions, and judges – experience in organizing and judging of the regional competitions.
