All-Ukrainian Forum “Student Action – Effective Student Organizations”

The student majoring in “Secondary Education. Geography”of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, Karyna Yakovleva took part in the All-Ukrainian forum.
December 10-12 in Kyiv on the initiative of British Council took place the All-Ukrainian Forum “Student Action – Effective student organizations.” Sixty active representatives of student self-government from the best universities of Ukraine were invited. The purpose of the forum is to make it clear to students that they play an important role in the organization of the educational process, that the participation of students and their impact on the daily improvement of education and protection of rights is extremely valued!
The program of the forum was intensive and informative; it included conducting a dialogue with the management of the educational institution, the basis for effective work in a team, the role of student self-governance and student organizations in accordance with the laws of Ukraine on higher education.
Separate gratitude to the speakers, namely, Aaron Porter and Simon Williams, who shared the experience of student self-governance in the UK, and answered questions from the participants.
There were also presentations of successful case studies of student self-governance in Ukraine from Zaporizhzhya National University, National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.”
Participants and organizers of the forum gained invaluable experience in the field of student self-governance! Now every participant of the forum has established ties not only with OSS in Ukraine, but also abroad!
