Serhii Bubka visited the Luhansk region

The President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine Serhii Bubka visited the Luhansk region.

Within the framework of the working visit, the President of the NOC of Ukraine visited the city of Severodonetsk, where a meeting with the head of the Luhansk Regional State Administration – the head of the regional military-civilian administration Yuri Garbuz and the sporting community of Luhansk region was held in the building of the Luhansk Regional State Administration.

During the conversation, the district leader spoke about the sporting achievements of our Olympic athletes and the work being carried out on the modernization of the regional sports center “Olimp”.

“I am sincerely glad to welcome the true sports legend, President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine Serhii Bubka. I sincerely thank Serhii Nazarovych for the visit and support of the Olympic Movement in Ukraine. The particular gratitude for the modern gymnastic equipment for the Luhansk regional lyceum-boarding school of physical culture and sports of the region. We will continue to work on the development of sports infrastructure and improvement of conditions for the training of athletes and will definitely restore the unity and sporting glory of Luhansk region!” – Yuri Garbuz said.

In turn, Serhii Bubka thanked the head of the VCA for the work that is being conducted in the field of sports and spoke about the plans and prospects for the development of Olympic sports in Ukraine.

After greetings, Yuri Garbuz solemnly handed over the keys to the Skoda-Octavia 7, purchased at the expense of the regional budget, for the needs of the Luhansk Regional School of Higher Sporting Skills.

Serhii Bubka awarded the regional leadership and leading representatives of the sports community of Luhansk region with the diplomas and valuable gifts from the NOC of Ukraine for the significant contribution to the development of physical culture and sports of Luhansk region. Also Yuri M. Polulyaschenko, the Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports of LTSNU was awarded with the honorary diploma of the NOC of Ukraine and the medal “For the development of the Olympic Movement in Ukraine”.

Upon completion of the solemn ceremony in the city of Severodonetsk, the delegation of the NOC went to the city of Kreminna, where Serhii Bubka saw the sports infrastructure at the regional sports center “Olimp”. After that, the head of the NOC of Ukraine gave the sportsmen of Luhansk region a set of modern gymnastic equipment of the leading world company “Janssen-Fritsen”, which is used during all prestigious international competitions, including the Olympic Games.

“Luhansk region has always been famous for its sports traditions. Here people like sports. Even in very difficult conditions, people find the opportunity to engage in physical education and sports. I am very glad that from now on young gymnasts will have the opportunity to grow up thanks to high-quality modern equipment,” Serhii Bubka said. He expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the International Gymnastics Federation, the Janssen-Fritsen Company and the Sport for Children Foundation, in cooperation with which it was possible to solve the issue with the free supply of equipment, the total cost of which is about 2.5 million UAH.

From now on, young pupils of the Luhansk regional boarding school of physical culture and sports, athletes of the CYSS of the region and students of the ER IPES will have modern equipment for training and improving sport skills.
