Meeting with an American diplomat

On the 19th of December a meeting with an American diplomat took place in Poltava.
The Kotliarevskyi Library is not only a treasure-house of various books, but also a meeting place of Window on America Center, where everyone can take part in events devoted to English, or just communicate in English with others. The meeting with the American diplomat Kuros Ghaffari, which covered the topic “The United States Education System”, was not the exception. Students of the 1st and 2nd years of the Romance and Germanic Philology Department also took part in this event.
During the event students learned about the peculiarities of studying at US universities on the Ghaffari‘s examples of living as a student at the University of California, Los Angeles. Students were able to compare the ratio of study and leisure, and also had the opportunity to get answers to all questions that arose during the speech of the diplomat.
In general, the meeting was held in a cozy and friendly atmosphere. So, we wish our students luck while the admission committee is choosing!
