The University Administration meeting

The scheduled meeting of the University Administration took place at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
Two main issues were discussed on the agenda:
- on the implementation of the administration decisions and the prospects for the development of the Educational and Research Institute of Culture and Arts;
- on the implementation of the administration decisions and the prospects for the development of the Faculty of Foreign Languages.
A report on the implementation of the administration decisions and prospects for the development of the Educational and Research Institute of Culture and Arts was made by I.O. Stashevska. Having heard and discussed the report of the Institute Director, the Rector noted that the staff of the structural subdivision took measures to implement the decision of January 16, 2017.
Teachers and staff developed and implemented the career guidance plan for school leavers of Poltava and Poltava region secondary schools and secondary specialized schools. In April 2017, the annual leading vocational orientation event of the Institute was held. It was the All-Ukrainian Festival-Contest “Gifted Youth”, in which more than 500 pupils of general education schools and secondary specialized schools of seven regions of Ukraine took part.

In 2017, the annual collection of scientific articles by students and master students of the Educational and Research Institute of Culture and Arts “Art Education and Aesthetic Education of Youth” was prepared for publication. The students published 42 scientific works.
The structural subdivision constantly illuminates scientific, educational and cultural events on the Poltava TV channels “Public TV”, “Ltava”, “Gorod” (the concert of choral music in the Poltava Museum of Local Lore, the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Art Education in the Context of Globalization and Multiculturalism”, the concert of art collectives of the Educational and Research Institute of Culture and Arts).
Teachers and staff closely cooperate with the Poltava Regional Philharmonic Society and the Symphony Orchestra of the Poltava Theater named after M. Gogol. Among its artists are students and teachers of the Institute, in particular the conductor of the orchestra, the People’s Artist of Ukraine V. Skakun and the artist of the orchestra, People’s Artist of Ukraine Yu. Kirichenko.
At the same time, the University Administration noted unresolved problems in the work of the Educational and Research Institute of Culture and Arts, among them the irregular updating of information on the staffing of the departments, educational and methodological support, and the scientific and social activities of teachers and students on the university’s website.
The report on the implementation of the administration decisions and prospects for development of the Faculty of Foreign Languages was made by I.M. Karpenko. Having heard and discussed the report of the Dean of the Faculty, the Rector noted that the staff took measures to implement the decision of January 16, 2017.
In 2017, 129 people were accepted for the first course on the bachelor’s degree at the Faculty, 79 of them are citizens of Turkmenistan.
Teachers of the Faculty actively conduct advertising and career guidance work in Luhansk and Poltava regions, in particular in general schools and gymnasiums in Poltava, Lysychansk, Rubizhne, Kreminna, Kremenchug, Mirgorod and Gadyach. In 2017, five days of open doors were held on the basis of the professional school. The Faculty has twice participated in the regional exhibition-presentation “Poltava Applicant”.
Teachers and faculty members are making efforts to ensure the intake of foreign students, in particular, about 80 invitations to study are provided.
At the same time, the University Administration noted unresolved problems in the work of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, among them the organization of the educational and upbringing process for foreigners.
