10th anniversary

The Educational and Research Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technologies celebrated its 10th anniversary.

Birthdays – the beginning for both a person and for any high school, each its Faculty and Institute. On this day, it is customary to gather in a circle of friends, sum up, and remember those who linked their destiny with the physicist and look into the bright future of the Institute. The Educational and Research Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technologies was established on December 1, 2007.

During this time, the Institute was headed by three directors: Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Mykola A. Semenov (2007-2008), Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Iryna M. Mykhailova (2008-2010), Candidate of Technical Sciences Hennadii A. Mohylnyi (from 2010 to the present day).

Under the leadership of Hennadiy A. Mohylnyi, the research laboratories were on the basis of the Institute, the work of the subdivision was organized when moving to the city of Starobilsk, and then to the city of Rubizhne.

December 5, 2017 students and teachers of the Institute gathered in the assembly hall for a festive evening. The masters of the ceremony Roman and Yulia Velichko opened the event with welcoming words for all the present. The solemn part began with the anthem of Ukraine.

The Director Hennadii A. Mohylnyi congratulated everyone on the anniversary and described the prospects for the development of the Institute. The Deputy Director for Social and Humanitarian Work V.V. Matievsky conducted a mini-lecture on the history of the Institute and its ancestor, the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics. He described outstanding scientists and personalities, whose destiny was closely connected with the Institute. At the end of the lecture, a mini-quiz with sweet prizes was held.

Students Vira Solovyova and Volodymyr Alekseyenko performed a song in honor of the 10th anniversary of the Institute.

After that, the acting head of the Department of Information Technologies and Systems M.A. Semenov (first director of the Institute) expressed the hope that the students of the subdivision will be winners both in studies, sport and, most importantly, in labor activity.

The Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Servicing Technologies and Tourism, Candidate of Biological Sciences Viktor F. Drel addressed with video congratulation and wished that the University as a whole and the Institute in particular were leaders in the field of education of Ukraine.

The fourth-year students majoring in “Documentation and Information Activity” prepared a surprise contest for the teachers.

The Head of the Department of Physical and Technical Systems and Informatics Yu. G. Kozub told important moments from the life of the University and expressed confidence in the continued and fruitful life of the Institute.

The evening ended with the performance of songs by first-year students Evgen Khalizov and Mykola Kiselev.

The history of the Institute is formed from the unique life path of each of its students, who multiply the authority and glory of our Institute and University by his work, and we hope that the next anniversary of the ER IPMIT will be celebrated in liberated Luhansk.
