All-Ukrainian Law Week

On December 4-8, the All-Ukrainian Law Week was held at the Starobilsk branch of the Regional Center for Vocational Education of LTSNU.

The purpose of the event was to increase the level of legal education and the formation of legal consciousness, legal knowledge and legal culture among students.

The week started with decorating the main building with wall newspapers, legal advice and stands on legal topics, as well as with the questioning among students – “Youth and the Rule of Law”.

In order to deepen knowledge of the law, hours of communication were held: “Your legal culture”, “Legal primer”, “Freedom and responsibility”, “Law in our life”; information minutes in the lessons “Law in my life”, “Human rights: your view” and the information company including “The law is the only one for all”, “WE – against violence”. Also there was held the All-Ukrainian law lesson, dedicated to the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the UN Assembly on December 10, 1948.

Poetry of Volodymyr Sosyura “Love Ukraine” started a legal show game “I love Ukraine”. Two teams (Ukrainian boys and Ukrainian girls) took part in this event. The game aroused a sense of love for Ukraine, inspired all those present to study the legal science. As far as the participants know their rights under the Constitution of Ukraine, the judges learned already in the first round – “Legal Football”. Here, young jurists showed high professionalism and good knowledge of the subject. The same happened in other competitions: “Philological alibi” (the solution of the crossword “My Ukraine”), a music contest called “I and the law” – the text of the songs required the teams about what right there is a code and the law that will regulate it.

The game with the audience was very interesting. The fans had the opportunity to help their team with the right answer. Following the results of the game the winners were the team “Ukrainian girls” (the captain is M.A. Sergienko , teacher of the Ukrainian language and literature), as well as the first-year students of the profession “Office employee”: Alena Siryk, Anastasia Trofimenko, Alena Molochkova and Valeria Ovcharenko. Diplomas of the participants were awarded to the team “Ukrainian boys” (the captain is S.M. Vorotyntsev, head of Starobilsk branch) and the second-year students of the profession “Car mechanic”: Arevshat Margaryan, Ivan Kosolap, Arthur Onischenko and Mykola Biryukov.

The present causes the need for the formation of legal consciousness, raising the level of legal culture, respect for the law, overcoming legal nihilism. The All-Ukrainian Law Week promotes awareness of the students that the important conditions for the existence of a democratic society is the legal education of citizens, respect for human rights, tolerance, and the ability to find compromises.
