The Rector of LTSNU Serhii Savchenko spoke about the significance of the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

With the outbreak of hostilities in the east of Ukraine, the Armed Forces Day has acquired special significance. Thousands of Ukrainians were compelled to defend European democratic values ​​and defend their right to a decent life and freedom. The Rector of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University Serhii Savchenko told about the importance of the Armed Forces and the military in preserving the integrity of the country.

• Serhii Viktorovych, December 6, our state celebrates the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Why is this holiday so important for each of us?

The Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is very important, since military aggression is taking place in our country. And our future depends on how the Ukrainian army will fulfill its duty to the Motherland. I hope that the result of this war will be victorious for us, and this will be another outstanding holiday for Ukraine.

• What events for the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be held at our University?

We have repeatedly met with the military men and prepared gifts for them. Today a meeting of military men with students and teachers of LTSNU will take place.

• What words of greeting would you like to say on this day to our military men?

My main wish is brief, but informative. I want all the defenders to return home safe and healthy.

So, our military men are the pride of the state, a pledge of security and confidence in the bright future.
