Dear our defenders! The staff of lecturers and students of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University congratulates you on the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine!

For each of us, the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is a date that acquired special significance with the outbreak of war in the east of Ukraine, when the University was at the epicenter of Russian aggression and criminal acts of terrorist groups, subjected to repression and persecution of students and teachers, kidnapping and torture of scientists, seizure and destruction of buildings.

We are grateful that you were the first to defend our land from enemy forces, stopped the aggressor and became a strong fortress and guarantor of our security.

Thank you for the fact that in the most difficult and tragic time for our University you gave us the opportunity to study and work in our native Luhansk region; together bring up a new generation of Ukrainians in the east of Ukraine.

We highly appreciate your contribution to the consolidation of Ukrainian society, the overcoming of the ethnopolitical split between East and West, the formation of a united Ukrainian political nation!

We bow our heads to those who gave their lives for the blessed Ukrainian land … We bow low before mothers and wives who have lost their sons and husbands …

Now we can confidently say: our Army is the strongest in the world; indestructible, heroic and highly professional. It rose from the ruins, strengthened and became a national pride for 3.5 years!

Our civic duty is to make sure that each serviceman’s feat was duly appreciated by both the state and civil society.

We wish you good health, psychological stability in the performance of the mission entrusted to you, reliable environment, family warmth, accomplishment of all dreams and desires. And we wish all of us brilliant VICTORY!
