Today the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism celebrates its 10th anniversary.

In 2007, the history of one of the most powerful structural subdivisions of the University began. By separating some specialties from the Institute of Economy and Business and the Faculty of Natural Sciences, the Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism was established. This was an important step in the development of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, because the training areas related to commerce and food technologies needed a new structure.

The new Institute united the training of specialists in the field of serving the population in various spheres. At Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, these were new and popular specialties, and 10 years of work of the structural subdivision proved the correctness of the decision. Today, the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism continues to develop and become famous among applicants. The structural subdivision is the locomotive of the development of applied science; specialists produce new types of food products, learn to develop new business projects in the field of tourism.

Celebrations began with an exhibition with products, examples of costumes, pictures, photographs made by students and teachers of the Institute. Preparing for the holiday, teachers and students of the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism prepared video congratulations.

Continuation of the festive event was a festive concert, during which young people of the Institute surprised the audience with creative performances. Teachers and employees of the Institute were congratulated by the Rector of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University Serhii Savchenko, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Oleksandr Babichev, Chairman of the Starobilsk District State Administration A.I. Garkavy, Chairman of the Primary Trade Union Organization of the University Volodymyr Moroz. The Chairman of the Supervisory Council of LTSNU, People’s Deputy of Ukraine Vitalii Kurylo joined congratulations; he spoke about the history of the establishment of the structural subdivision and wished students and teachers scientific achievements, development and further victories.

Certificates of LTSNU and prizes from the Primary Trade Union Organization were awarded to teachers, employees and students of the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism.

The choreographic performances of students were impressive and original. Both modern and folk dances were performed with great enthusiasm, which symbolized the unity of generations and respect for centuries-old traditions. The most perceptive was the song “Starі photografii” performed by Serhii Savoshchenko. Those present recalled the bright moments of the history of the structural subdivision.

Students of other structural divisions of the University congratulated the Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism. At the end of the event, the Song and Dance Ensemble of the NPMD in the Luhansk Region “Patrul” performed.

We congratulate teachers, employees and students of the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism on the anniversary and wish new scientific achievements and victories on the educational path.
