Chess and checkers tournaments

From November 21 to 22, there were chess and checkers tournaments in the framework of the Spartakiad dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports.

There were 44 participants; 28 boys and girls took part in checkers tournament and 16 people took part in chess competitions.

During the stubborn struggle, in the chess tournament, 1 place was taken by Serhii Ignatov, 3rd-year student majoring in “Physical Education”; 2 place was given to Tetyana Kopteva, 3rd-year student (on the basis of junior specialist) majoring in “Physical Culture and Sports. Sports”; 3 place – Artem Olhovy, 1st-year student majoring in “Physical Therapy, Ergotherapy”.

In the checkers tournament, 1st place was won by Vitalii Kondratenko, 2nd-year student majoring in “Physical Culture and Sports. Sports”; 2nd place – Vitalii  Yurkov, 3rd-year student majoring in “Physical Education”; 3rd place – Oleksandr Kryvonos, 1st-year student majoring in “Secondary Education. Physical Culture”.

At the end of the competitions, the Director of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports Yuriy Polulyashchenko awarded the winners and prizewinners with certificates and sweet prizes.
