The festival was arranged for Ukrainian-German 2017 language year

November 23, the Romance and Germanic Philology Department has completed the Ukrainian-German language weeks, joining more than 50 cultural events and events throughout Ukraine.

The head of Romance and Germanic Philology Department S.O. Shekhavtsova underlined that the aim of Ukrainian-German language year is an improvement of current cooperation between educational and cultural institutions of both countries and establishment of new long-term projects and partnerships. That is why the students of the Department completed these language weeks with creative performances, made in both Ukrainian and German. These performances revealed the personal creative potential of modern youth. One could listen to the poems, songs, presentations, interactive conversations and interesting reports. The foreign students were actively taking part in the event.

Thanks to such events, the future specialists can form such personal qualities as: the intercultural tolerance, socio-cultural responsibility as a representative of Ukraine, diplomacy in order to support the cultural dialogue, the readiness to use socio-cultural traditions and norms of foreign-language society and also to exist in polycultural environment independently.

Thus, the week which was arranged for the Ukrainian-German language year actualized the necessity of finding a common language between the countries and cultures once again. The expression of personal civic position is a very responsible task for representatives of different languages and cultures.
