“Romano-Germanic languages in the modern intercultural space”

At the faculty of foreign languages was held the first all-Ukrainian student scientific-practical conference “Romano-Germanic languages in the modern intercultural space” on November 22.

It was organized by Romance and Germanic Philology Department of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

The conference was attended by students of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, Poltava University of Economics and Trade, Zhytomyr Ivan Franko State University, Vinnytsia Humanitarian Pedagogical College, Lviv Polytechnic National University, Zaporizhzhya national technical university, Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University, Lysychansk Pedagogical College, Cherkasy educational – scientific institute of the State Higher Educational Institution “Banking University”, Kharkiv University of Humanities “People’s Ukrainian Academy” etc.

The conference started with the greetings of I. M. Karpenko, the Dean of the faculty of foreign languages. The solemn beginning of the conference was continued by the greetings of Head of the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology, S. O. Shekhavtsova and O. I. Kobzar, Professor of the Department. During the plenary session were discussed such topics as: the peculiarities of lexical material selection during English classes (foreign countries’ experience); pedagogical capacity of subject-subject interaction in terms of modern educational process; linguodidactic features of the working with the English lexicography sources skills formation among the high-school students.

After the plenary session, these sections started their work: “Relevant issues of Romano-Germanic Philology”, “Modern strategies of intercultural communication in the European space”, “The Originality of Romano-Germanic literature” and “Innovative technologies of Romano-Germanic languages teaching”. During the work of the sections, the participants had the opportunity to discuss the problems that were mentioned in the reports and to suggest the solutions of issues that were discussed.

At the end of the all-Ukrainian student scientific-practical conference, certificates were given to the participants. The Department continues the tradition of holding student scientific conferences at the faculty and wishes the participants to make new scientific achievements and researches!
