“The Free Make the Future”

Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University hosted a theatrical event “The Free Make the Future”.

Protection of national interests of the state, democratic values, human rights and freedoms has always been of great importance for the Ukrainian people. Throughout the centuries-old history of the state, the best sons of Ukraine fought for their independence and sovereignty.

In 2014, millions of Ukrainians, united around a common goal, prevented the usurpation of power. Honoring the feat of the heroes of the Revolution of Dignity and the Orange Revolution, students and lecturers of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University conducted a theatrical event “The Free Make the Future”.

Honorary guests of the celebration were the head of the Starobilsk District State Administration A.I. Garkavyi and military servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

At the beginning of the event, the Rector of the University Serhii Savchenko. He remembered the heroes who gave their lives for the future of Ukraine, and thanked the soldiers present for their contribution to the defense of our state. The greetings were also said by the Head of the Starobilsk District State Administration A.I. Garkavyi, who noted the significant role of students in the events of 2014.

The continuation of the event was creative performances of students and university staff. The youth sang songs dedicated to the tragic events of 2014 and the heroes of the “Heavenly Hundred”. The performance of the choreographic collective “Inspiration” did not stay anyone indifferent, and Mykhailo Vlaykov on behalf of the student brotherhood expressed words of respect and gratitude to the defenders.

At the end of the holiday, students laid flowers to the university stand to the deceased inhabitants of Starobilsk district, and to the burial place of defenders of Ukraine in the city cemetery.
