Meeting with the Rector

The University hosted the annual working meeting of the Rector Serhii Savchenko with students.

The event took place in an open dialogue format, when students could ask questions that interested them and shared their own impressions of the training. Also the chairman of the Primary Trade Union Organization Volodymyr Moroz, the University Administration, as well as Vice-Rectors for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Oleksandr Babichev, Dmytro Uzhchenko and Vice-Rector for Administrative and Economic Work Dmytro Kovalev attended the event and answered the questions of activists.

At the beginning of the meeting, Serhii Viktorovych highlighted those achievements of the University, which are directly aimed at the development of the educational and scientific research process. Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University is the unique educational institution, which has passed the European accreditation, has borrowed high enough result in the international rating “Webometrics” and has got access to the bibliographic and reference database “Scopus”.

Students were interested in the issues of the educational process, international opportunities for realizing their own potential, updating the material and technical base, accrual of scholarships, student leisure, issues of everyday life. All these questions were answered by responsible persons and directly by the Rector. There are issues that have been taken over and will be resolved in the future.

Also at the meeting, those present considered aspects of the new Law of Ukraine “On Education”. The listeners were informed about the inadmissibility of establishing temporary restrictions on access to dormitories, groundless eviction, involvement in forced labor, including duty, inadmissibility of unreasonable penetration into the home of recipients of higher education.

The format of such meetings is aimed at the open dialogue, the possibility of administration and students to hear each other’s problems and wishes. We hope for further events in the same open format, as the result of these meetings can be positively assessed by each student.
