The 500th Anniversary of the Reformation
16.11.2017
Events dedicated to the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation took place in the Starobilsk branch of the Regional Center for Vocational Education of LTSNU.
In 2017, we celebrate the 500th anniversary of the beginning of a large-scale spiritual revival, which forever changed the course of history. The beginning of the Reformation was taken from the speech of the German monk Martin Luther on October 31, 1517, who on that day posted 95 theses on the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg. Another German thinker V.F. Hegel called the Reformation: “the meaning of the history of a new time.” Social phenomena born of the Reformation remain the achievement of mankind in the whole history. Western civilization has origins from the spiritual ideals of the Reformation, and Ukrainians aspire to them.
In order to recognize the significant contribution of Protestant churches and religious organizations to the development of the religious, cultural and social spheres of Ukraine, respect for their role in Ukrainian history and the establishment of the independent state in Ukraine, educational events are held in the educational institutions on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. On November 9, students of the Starobilsk branch of the Regional Center for Vocational Education visited the exhibition at the Luhansk regional museum of local lore devoted to the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.
The teacher A.I. Panteleimonova together with the museum staff conducted an exciting historical digression into the political, educational, and public renewal of European countries.
