“Hai Pisnya Sklykae Druziv” resumes its work

The International Vocal-Choral Contest-Festival “Hai Pisnya Sklykae Druziv” resumes its work in Bukovina within the framework of the project “East + West”.

Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, which hosted the contest for eight consecutive years since 2007 with the support of the People’s Deputy of Ukraine Vitalii Kurylo, co-organizes the event jointly with the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University. The idea of ​​creating an international festival belongs to the Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Assistant Professor Olga Churikova-Kushnir (now – Associate Professor of the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University).

“Due to the difficult situation in the East of the country, our University has been evacuated for several years, which creates certain difficulties for the traditional holding of a music festival. It is sad and painful because of this, and at the same time we are glad that the contest-festival is reviving, because the future is behind it,” – the Rector Serhii Savchenko comments on the event.

We remind you that young talents aged from 3 to 27 take part in the competition in several categories: choral singing, vocal-debut, vocal ensembles, and solo singing including academic, folk, pop. For eight years, the grand prix of the competition was given to the participants of the most difficult nomination – “Choral singing”. Sometime the festival started from this nomination.

By the way, the specialists of the Center, which turns 15 this year, are part of the creative group of the contest-festival from the very beginning.

The 9th International Vocal-Choral Contest-Festival “Hai Pisnya Sklykae Druziv” will be held on April 23-27, 2018 at the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University (reception of documents for participation from January 1 to February 1, 2018).
