“Student brotherhood”

The representative of the All-Ukrainian public association “Student Brotherhood” Vitalii Ivanov visited Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

“Student Brotherhood” is an organization that was born during the revolution of 2004, and now it is carrying out its activities in various directions. So during the annexation of the Crimea, the activists of the association conducted a number of information campaigns aimed at ending aggression and establishing the unity of the country.

Today, the participants of the All-Ukrainian public association work in two spheres, namely: civic education, whose purpose is to disseminate positive examples of public activities, as well as media education, which consists in combating disinformation.

According to Vitalii Ivanov, these projects are being implemented in educational institutions in 10 regions of Ukraine. That is why our University hosted lectures on topical issues of the work of the “Student Brotherhood”.

The event was attended by students of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications, the Starobilsk Humanitarian and Pedagogical College and the College of LTSNU. The activist spoke about his volunteer activities, the work of the public association, and noted that volunteering contributes to the successful self-realization of the individual. At the next lecture, Ivanov focused on various forms of disinformation, cited his own examples of such phenomena, in particular in social networks and on television, and the young people watched the educational video materials.

Such events are especially relevant for student youth, since the ability to evaluate any information critically and objectively is the key to the successful future and self-development.
