The Academic Council Meeting

A meeting of the Academic Council was held at the University.
Two main issues were discussed on the agenda:
- the implementation of the Law of Ukraine “On Education” at the University;
- the discussion of the norms of the Law of Ukraine “On Education”.
A report was made by Dmytro V. Uzhchenko. Having heard and discussed the report of the Vice-Rector on Scientific and Pedagogical Work, the Academic Council noted that the Law of Ukraine “On Education” regulates social relations arising in the process of realization of the constitutional human right to education, the rights and obligations of individuals and legal entities participating in the realization of this right, and also determines the competence of state bodies and local self-government bodies in the field of education.
The Vice-Rector focused on general provisions, including definitions of the main terms, among which “teaching activities”, “competence”, “educational program”, etc. Also Uzhchenko analyzed the types and forms of education. So, the basic forms of education are institutional (full-time (day, evening), part-time, distance, network), individual (external, family (home), pedagogical patronage, in the workplace (in production), dual.
The Academic Council reviewed the structure of education, which includes pre-school education, full general secondary education, out-of-school education, specialized education, vocational education, vocational higher education, higher education and adult education.
Dmytro V. Uzhchenko noted the organizational and legal status of educational institutions and their management system. Educational programs, peculiarities of ensuring the quality of education and financial and economic relations in the sphere of education were analyzed.
In accordance with the above, the Academic Council decided for all teachers and employees to learn the text of the Law of Ukraine “On Education”, post the text of the law on the university’s website, make appropriate changes to the University Charter, regulations, forms, advertising information and so on.
