Луганський національний університет імені Тараса Шевченка

Interview with the Rector

The Rector of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University Serhii V. Savchenko told about the importance of military personnel at our University.

  • Serhii Viktorovych, there are many military students studying at our University. Tell me, please, has it always been like this?

No, it was not always so. Once upon a time, probably, about 20 years ago, both military men and law enforcement officers studied at our University, but later this trend came to naught. During the last 3 years, we have felt interest in our university from military men serving in the ATO zone. We, in turn, taking into account their specifics of service, provide them with distance or correspondence courses. This does not affect the quality of the learning process. I am constantly interested in this issue. They like the quality of training at the university. In addition, they really like to be a part of the large family of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

  • What specialties are popular among the military men?

The military men are interested in all specialties, but the most popular are those that are in demand in their field of activity, in particular informatics, psychology, international relations.

  • October 14 we are celebrating the Day of the Defender of Ukraine. What would you like to wish our servicemen?

I would like to wish our soldiers, students and colleagues that we pass the exams that fell to our lot. I wish our soldiers good health, success in study, and returning home healthy. And also I wish them to retain the memory of the training at our University.

Summing up the story of the Rector, it can be confidently asserted that the servicemen became a part of the student brotherhood of LTSNU, who care about their self-realization and self-development.
