Meeting of the student self-government

A planned meeting of the student self-government of the University was held.

Three main issues were discussed on the agenda:

• the introduction of changes in the composition of the Student Council of LTSNU;
• the approval of work plans for the academic year 2017-2018;
• the results of the accommodation of students in the hostel.

The heads of local governments of the university structural subdivisions made the report on making changes to the Student Council, introduced the participants to new activists. In particular, Darya Cherevata (ER IHIRSPS), Ruslan Ivanov (ER ICSTT), Dmytro Pleshko (ER IPP), Daria Cherevata (FNS), Tetyana Tsarevska (FUPSC), Kateryna Grytsyna and Hanna Verbitska, Ivan Lutsenko and Yevgen Popov (College of LTSNU), Valeria Pidnebenna, Valeria Kalyuzhna and Alena Ostapenko (SGPK).

The chairman of the student self-government Yaroslav Chepel delivered a report on the approval of work plans for the academic year 2017-2018. He talked about the work directions and prospects for the new academic year.

The report on the results of the accommodation of students in the hostel was made by the chairmen of student councils of hostels. They talked about the condition of students’ residence. As of September 27, 320 students were accommodated in the hostel. The introductory briefings on occupational safety and health were given to the students.

Also at the meeting, the members of the self-government decided to apply for membership in the public organization “Ukrainian Students Association” on the rights of collective membership.

Alena Ponomareva told the audience about the beginning of reception of applications for the competition of the Zavtra.UA Scholarship Program, which contributes to the formation and strengthening of a new generation of the intellectual and business elite of the country, creates and enhances opportunities for young and responsible leaders who will become the generator of future changes.
