The project of the British Council in Ukraine.
On September 28 the meeting of representatives of the British Council in Ukraine and the universities participating in the project “English for Universities” was held. Luhansk national university was represented by the faculty of foreign languages (Ivan Karpenko and Svetlana Shekhavtsova). Thanks to the fruitful work of representatives of the British Council in Ukraine (Rod Bolitho, Richard West, Zhanna Sevastianova) the positive dynamics of the project’s implementation was noted.
The British Council, this year celebrating 25 years in Ukraine, has played a large part in developing and supporting initiatives and programs, not only to improve current English language skills in Ukraine, but also to have a lasting positive and sustainable impact on the teaching of English within the education system.
Representatives of our educational institution reported on positive changes in teaching and learning English, which contribute to the improvement of English proficiency. These changes will undoubtedly improve the welfare of Ukraine and its ability to adapt and enter into interaction with the outside world. At the meeting the publication “Internationalisation of Ukrainian Universities: the English language dimension” was presented. In the publication there were collected the results the project’s of implementation into fifteen leading universities of Ukraine including our Alma Mater.
