The Academic Council Meeting

A planned meeting of the Academic Council was held at the University.
Two main issues were on the agenda:
- the results of the work of the examination (qualification) commissions in the academic year 2016-2017 and the features of the organization of educational activities in the academic year 2017-2018;
- the readiness of the University to work in the autumn-winter period.
V.V. Lesnova made a report on the results of the examination (qualification) commissions in the academic year 2016-2017 and the features of the organization of educational activities in the academic year 2017-2018. Having heard and discussed the report of the Acting Head of the Educational Department, the Academic Council noted that according to the schedule of the educational process in the academic year 2016-2017 winter and summer final attestations of graduates were held, for which 19 and 50 commissions were respectively created. 2,157 graduates of full-time, part-time and external forms of education of various educational and educational-qualification levels received diplomas.
The administrations of the educational and research institutes and the faculties withstood the requirements for the design of the necessary documentation for the final certification and in a timely and qualitatively prepared packages of documents for the production of diplomas. In order to effectively organize educational activities in the academic year 2016-2017, significant work has been carried out. The Educational and Methodical Department has developed instructions for using the latest technologies of active interaction between students and teachers on the Moodle distance-learning platform. During the academic year 2016-2017, 25 teachers of the university successfully completed the training in a free course, which was created on the basis of instructions. Work is continuing on the creation of the electronic library of the University. The repository of the university is regularly replenished with educational, methodical and scientific works. Today the repository contains 1,722 files, and library workers digitize the most necessary copies of scientific and educational literature.
The schedules of educational process and arrivals of students who study remotely are developed. On September 1, 2017, the stationary classes began in the cities Starobilsk, Kreminna, Rubizhne and Poltava. The senior students in accordance with the curriculum came to the training and production practices.
At the same time, there remain unsolved problems in the organization of the educational process, among which insufficient use by the departments of active methods of interaction between teachers and students.
D.Yu. Kovalev made a report on the university’s readiness to work in the autumn-winter period. Having heard and discussed the report of the Vice-Rector on Administrative and Economic Work, the Academic Council noted that the University is carrying out significant work on preparation for work in the autumn-winter period of the academic year 2017-2018.
According to the plan, there was a current repair of the building No. 2, which had been not used for a long time. Due to the funds of the State Regional Development Fund, the dorm rooms for students were reconstructed and furniture, household appliances were purchased.
With the support of the Luhansk Regional Military-Civil Administration, a 12-apartment building was purchased in the city of Kreminna, which is being reconstructed today. In the city of Starobilsk, the non-residential premises, which was purchased by the university administration, are being reconstructed for the hostel accommodation for students.
In 2017, a tender was held for the purchase of solid fuel. This will allow starting the heating season in time.
Among the miscellaneous, some scientists were recommended for training in doctoral studies of LTSNU and scientific advisors were appointed to them; doctoral students of LTSNU were certified, the themes of doctoral dissertations were approved and the conceptual provisions of the Strategy for the development of pedagogical education in Ukraine were supported.
At the end of the meeting, teachers and employees of our university were awarded with diplomas for conscientious work, high professionalism and significant personal contribution to the development of national education.
