“Starobilsk Mile”

Students of the University took part in the “Starobilsk Mile”.

The track and field race “Starobilsk Mile” is held annually by the Starobilsk District State Administration on the Day of Physical Culture and Sports. The sports event unites the active youth, propagating a healthy way of life and love to the native land.

236 people took part in the event, among them were students of the Starobilsk secondary schools, students of the Starobilsk Humanitarian and Pedagogical College and the College of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, as well as students of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports. Athletes were divided into 4 age categories, in connection with which, two races were held.

Young boys, as well as girls, started the competition. The second race was held among men and boys over 13 years old.

Students of LTSNU showed a high result in “Starobilsk mile”. In the age group “older boys” the second place was taken by Taras Rybalko, who fought hard to win in the stubborn struggle. The third result was shown by Yaroslav Smulsky.

Also, the organizers held a festive lottery among the participants of the race, the winner of which was the student of the LTSNU College Karyna Matsneva.
