The master student is a prize winner of the Scholarship Program

The master student majoring in “Secondary education. Physical Culture” became a prize winner of the” Zavtra.UA” Scholarship Program of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation and the Global Office.

In August 2017, the scholarship program “Zavtra.UA” of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation in partnership with the public organization “Global Office” held the first summer camp “YOU Camp – Youth, Opportunities, Unity”. 100 participants including 50 students from temporarily displaced universities and 50 from universities of other regions jointly developed 13 social projects to improve and unify the country.

According to the decision of the jury, four best projects (“GetEQ”, “#Pravda_mozhesh”, “ART station” and “Discover Another Reality”) received funding from the Victor Pinchuk Foundation and mentoring support from the public organization “Global Office”.

The third place was occupied by the project “ART station”, initiated by the master student of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports majoring in “Secondary education. Physical culture” Snezhana Porokhnya (supervisor is Associate Professor O.V. Otravenko).

The project “ART station” provides for the establishment of psychosocial rehabilitation centers for children living in the front-line zones.

The pilot project will be implemented in the settlement of Stanitsa Luhanska. The absence of cultural centers and platforms for communication and the general depressive state of the population lead to a decrease in the socialization of children, the development of negative background phenomena and restricts access to cultural and spiritual development. Participants of the project suggest creating centers that will provide children with access to psychological rehabilitation through art therapy and provide them with comprehensive psychosocial support.

The teaching staff of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports congratulates Snezhana Porokhnya and wishes creative success in the implementation of the project!
