Health Day
18.9.2017
The Health Day took place at the Educational and Research Institute of Culture and Arts and the Faculty of Foreign Languages.
Poltava is an organic combination of nature and culture, history and modernity, so it can be said that it is a city-museum, a garden city.
Teachers and students (more than 150 people) of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and the Institute of Culture and Arts chose a city arboretum called Poltava Switzerland to hold the Health Day.
Summer weather with autumn motifs created a good mood, pleased the eyes with a variety of flowers and trees, light glades, cascades of ponds in which white and black swans swam … While admiring the beautiful nature, all present drew attention to the “willow of Shevchenko”. Being in exile in the Mangeshlak steppe, Taras Shevchenko built a real Ukrainian house, dug a well and planted a willow branch. “Now I have a Ukrainian willow,” Shevchenko writes in a letter to his friends. In 1964, a stalk with four kidneys from the same willow was brought and planted in the city of Poltava.
The Health Day program included not only communication with nature, but also sports competitions and a culinary emblem competition (with the participation of teachers), in which 11 teams took part. According to the results of the competition, students were awarded with sweets and fruits.
In addition, the program of the Health Day hosted sports games, a concert and a disco. It should be noted the joy and interest from the cultural and educational activities of foreign students, as well as all freshmen who have joined the university family this year.
