The practice of non-standard academic classes
13.9.2017
The practice of non-standard approaches to the organization of academic studies continues at the Educational and Research Institute of History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences.
The academic studies began at the Educational and Research Institute of History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences. The construction of the educational process for the first-year students is completely new, because it is radically different from the organization of schooling.
The first weeks are continuous lectures. It would seem a boring job. However, at the Institute, the leading specialists – doctors of sciences, professors, candidates of sciences, associate professors conduct classes. They turn academic classes into an interesting excursion into the world of the unknown. In addition, the teachers of the Institute try to apply non-standard approaches to the construction of classes.
So, Deputy Director of the Institute A.V. Bader, who reads the course of Political History for students majoring in “Political Science”, having analyzed the topic devoted to Ancient China, organized an additional lecture and invited the only Sinologist in Ukraine, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor O.V. Naboka to read this lecture. The lesson was successful. Upon its completion, Oleksandr Viktorovych answered the students’ questions for a long time. Although success was predicted, because the lecturer not only defended his doctoral thesis on the history of China, but also in his time had the opportunity to visit this ancient and interesting country.
