The online radio station “University Wave” successfully works at the University.
Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, despite difficulties and evacuation, successfully continues its educational activities. The evidenced development of the educational institution is the on-line radio “University Wave” – a newly created radio station. Its broadcast is aimed at supporting student youth, acquainting students with the terms of study and a list of specialties at the University.
The idea of creating an online radio appeared in the last academic year. Thanks to the efforts of the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Oleksandr Meniailenko and the staff of the Center for Information Technologies created a virtual platform where there is an opportunity to listen to all the programs and musical compositions that were on the air. Stylish and clear design of the radio station site allows quickly finding the necessary information and listening to the desired program.
According to Oleksandr Meniailenko, the idea of creating an FM radio station at our University arose in 2004. The necessary technical conditions were created for this, and the broadcasting zone could reach from 30 to 60 km. But at that time there was no necessary team that would be able to realize the idea. In modern conditions of evacuation, Internet radio is an important and most effective means of communication. In addition, there are specialists who are able to introduce the most original ideas into life. “The main advantage of online radio,” – the Vice-Rector says – “is the ability to listen to any program that was on the air, regardless of the location of the listeners, the only necessary condition is access to the worldwide network.”
The editor-in-chief of the “University Wave” is I.V. Bakhmet monitors the program filling and updating of musical compositions on the radio. “Today, our radio is fully functional. We are confidently moving forward! And I am sure that soon we will reach a qualitatively new level with such a team, with young and purposeful student journalists,” – the editor noted.
A special contribution to the development of the online radio “University Wave” was made by students who initiated the creation of many programs and volunteered to expand the information space at our University. Working on the radio allows not only spending interesting time, but also it is a place for practice, mastering the necessary skills and gaining experience for students majoring in “Journalism.”
Among the original programs that sound on the radio is the “World of Professions”. The presenter of the program is Olena Smitanina, a student of our University, who tells about different professions, giving interesting and little-known facts about the current situation in the labor market.
It is difficult to imagine modern youth who are not interested in musical novelties. The song has become an integral part of our life, and that is why the “TOP-10” program is published weekly on the “University Wave”. Maryna Chumakova carefully selects musical hits, relying on the authoritative ratings of the TV channel “M1”.
Traditionally, events that occur at our University can be heard in the program “News of LTSNU”, the news anchor of which tells about the progress of the educational process at the University.
The program “We invite to study” provides an opportunity to get acquainted with the specialties of the structural subdivisions of the University. Here teachers and students talk about the features of the educational process and the prospects for employment.
On the website of the radio station, you can also find interviews with famous personalities, among them the author of the Studio “Kvartal 95” Oleksandr Bragin and the project manager of the Czech Development Agency Jan Peyril. They talked about their impressions of staying in Starobilsk district and at our University.
Internet radio of our University continues to develop thanks to a friendly team of enterprising people. Every day on the air only the most interesting and exclusive programs, that will be of interest to students, pupils, parents and all residents of our region.
