World Physical Therapy Day
8.9.2017
On September 8, the World Physical Therapy Day is celebrated all over the world.
The World Physical Therapy Day appeared in 1996 on the initiative of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy, which was founded on September 8, 1951 in Copenhagen. Today WCPT unites more than 350,000 physical therapists from around the world through 111 member organizations, including the Ukrainian Association of Physical Therapy.
The main message of the current company – “Physical activity for life” – draws attention to the need, regardless of age, to maintain a sufficient level of physical activity to preserve and promote health. So regular physical activity by 30-40% reduces the risk of developing colon cancer, 20-30% – breast cancer, 20-35% – cardiovascular diseases, 20-30% – type II diabetes, 26-28 % – hypertensive disease.
World Physical Therapy Day is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate how physical therapists can help people integrate physical activity into their daily lives.
The Department of Physical Rehabilitation and Human Health of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports congratulates students, teachers and colleagues on the World Physical Therapy Day and wishes health, inspiration, success in study and profession.
