Meeting of the Youth Club

On September 4, the meeting of the Youth Club of Oriental Cultures took place at the Faculty of Foreign Languages.

Students who study oriental languages ​​- Chinese, Japanese, Arabic and Turkish and teachers of these languages attended this event. The head of the Department of Oriental languages ​​Natalia Fedicheva addressed the audience with a welcoming word. She told that the meeting of the Club will be held once a month, offered topics for discussion at meetings, provided country studies materials, and also announced that she would continue tradition of the theater festival “Magic Colors”.

Natalia Fedicheva acquainted students with the history of the festival at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University and stressed that holding a theater festival is typical for prestigious universities in Europe and the United States of America. The main purpose of the festival is to popularize the study of eastern languages ​​among young people, to deepen knowledge about the cultural features of the peoples of the East, and to strengthen the positive image of future philologists and translators.

Mr. Li Yalin, the Dean of the Russian Language and Literature Faculty of Lanzhou University of Technology, was invited to the meeting of the Club. Mr. Li Yalin told the students about some peculiarities of the Chinese language and gave interesting facts about life in China. Discussion of the peculiarities of Chinese language and life turned into a discussion, during which students and guests communicated in Chinese and their native language.
