Competitions of the World Universiade

The 2017 World University Games ended in Taipei, South Korea.

Recently, the world’s international student and youth sports competitions of the Universiade 2017 have come to the end. The national team of Ukraine took the 6th place in the team classification, having won 36 medals of various dignity. An important role in the achievements of our athletes was played by students of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports.

The honored master of sports of Ukraine Oleksandr Gorshkovozov and the international master of sports of Ukraine Anastasia Nedobega won two gold medals in team competitions «Team Event». Both athletes are master students of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports of the specialty “Sports”. Ahead of the opponents from Canada by almost 36 points, they demonstrated incredible dedication and proved that they are one of the strongest pairs in the world in diving.

Other students of our University who take part in the event can be proud of their performances at the competitions. The fourth-year student majoring in “Physical Education”, the master of sports of Ukraine in diving Stanislav Oliferchik won a silver medal in diving. The third-year student majoring in “Physical Education”, the master of sports of Ukraine Yevgen Yudenkov received a silver medal in the team competition in the men’s national team of Ukraine in artistic gymnastics, ahead of the national team of Russia. In the personal standings, Eugene took the sixth place in the all-around.

The master student of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports majoring in “Physical Culture and Sports”, the master of sports of Ukraine of international class Anna Kirichenko won the bronze medal in the women’s national team of Ukraine in volleyball.

Students of our University won 5 of 36 medals, which was won by the national team of Ukraine.
