94th Anniversary of the University

Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University celebrated its 94th anniversary.
Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University is one of the oldest higher educational establishments of Donbas. This year it celebrates its 94. Such honourable age proves that our university is a real leader among the educational establishments of the region and Ukraine because one needs significantly a long period of time to form scientific schools, traditions, respect and authority among the academic community.
Unfortunately such light and good holiday – university birthday – is darkened with political and military situation in the country and its forced evacuation. That is why the rectorate of Luhansk National University refused big events on the occasion of the holiday. So, rectorate, teachers, colleagues and students just met in friendly atmosphere, quietly, even in a family way remembered the history of the university, its achievements, scientific schools and the best teachers. The administration of the region, district and the city were invited to the holiday. They congratulated the university staff. There was an award of university workers during the event. This year a big number of awards were presented and it’s no wonder because each of them saved own Alma Mater, helped in evacuation, took part in the organizing educational process. Several dozens of people were awarded with certificates and gratitude of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, region and district administration.
