Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University solemnly celebrated Knowledge Day.

The joyous noise that was heard today in the walls of our University marked the beginning of the academic year – a welcome event for both teachers and students. On September 1, traditionally, classes began at schools and universities throughout Ukraine.

The Day of Knowledge at LTSNU began with the introductory lecture, during which the students got acquainted with the educational traditions of our University. The directors and deans of the structural subdivisions congratulated the youth and wished achievements in their studies.

The solemn event dedicated to the Day of Knowledge began on the university square with the introduction of the national flag of Ukraine and the flag of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University. This honorable right was granted to students Bohdan Shevchenko and Kyrylo Sysoenko.

The Rector of the University Serhii Savchenko congratulated students, teachers and guests of the holiday. He conveyed the greetings for the youth and teachers from the Chairman of the Supervisory Council Vitalii Kurylo. Serhii Viktorovych remembered the history of the university’s formation and the years of evacuation during the Second World War. Summing up his speech, the scientist assured that we would win and achieve success through joint work.

Teachers and students of Luhansk National University are making efforts to develop their native Alma Mater. Thanks to its painstaking work, a large family of our University is winning new victories and achievements. Employees of the admission committee in 2017 made a lot of efforts to organize a successful admission campaign. During the solemn event, the best employees of the admission committee were awarded with certificates for fruitful work.

With the beginning of the new academic year, all those present were congratulated by the chairman of the student self-government of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University Yaroslav Chepel. He noted that our educational institution is one of the leading not only in Luhansk region, but also in Ukraine, and wished the students success in scientific and creative activity.

A nice gift for every freshman was the badge with the emblem of LTSNU that is a symbol of belonging to our Alma Mater. But the most emotional moment was the proclamation of the solemn student oath. Nionela Kobylyatska and Mykhailo Vlaykov on behalf of all first-year students swore to follow the precepts of the science leaders, to preserve the best traditions of the University, to protect the honor and dignity of the student.

Bright and impressive were the creative performances of our student youth. In the square magic Ukrainian songs were heard that evoked warm feelings of unity and confidence in the future.

A student of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University is an honorary title, which requires perseverance in achieving the goals and obtaining quality education. We wish our young people success in their studies and positive impressions of their student life.
