Holiday of unity and pride

Teachers and students of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University took part in the regional celebrations dedicated to the Independence Day of Ukraine.

The year of 1991 played a special role in the formation of the Ukrainian nation. It was then that our people received the long-awaited independence and began the development of their own state. The 24th of August for every Ukrainian is a day of national pride and respect for the fighters of the Motherland.

The district celebrations began with an exhibition of the best works of masters of arts and crafts and the fair of agricultural products. Everyone was treated to delicious dishes, giving an incredible atmosphere of the holiday and the people’s traditions.

The vice-chairman of the District State Administration E.A. Grigorenko and the chairman of the Starobilsk District Council N.A. Kulachka addressed the residents and guests of the city with official congratulations. They focused on the values ​​of the Ukrainian people and noted that the historical path of the state was difficult and thorny. At the end of the speech, those present honored the memory of the fighters who fell for the independence of Ukraine, with a minute of silence and laid flowers at the memorable signs.

On the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the independence of Ukraine the diplomas of the District State Administration for conscientious work for the benefit of the state, significant results achieved in professional activity were awarded to active residents Starobilsk district.

Volunteers and coordinators of the Center for Psychosocial Adaptation organized a master class on making souvenirs within the framework of the “Heart in Ukraine” action. Everyone could personally make gifts for servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and residents of cities and settlements that are located near the demarcation line. It was an interesting and exciting event, where everyone was able to demonstrate their knowledge of geography of Ukraine and find on the map of our state the names of regional centers.

The continuation of the festival was the performance of amateur groups of Starobilsk district. The artists congratulated the citizens on the Independence Day of Ukraine creatively. Each performance was filled with incredible positive, sincere emotions and a great sense of love for their native country.

Independence Day for every Ukrainian is the embodiment of freedom, dignity and unity. So let us unite and glorify our country together!
