Meeting of the Academic Council

The planned meeting of the Academic Council was held at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

Three main issues were on the agenda:

• The progress of the implementation of the decisions of the Academic Council of the University in the academic year 2016-2017.
• The approval of curricula and programs for the academic year 2017-2018.
• Competitive affairs.

At the beginning of the meeting, teachers, staff and students of the University honored the memory of the dead fighters who were students of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University with a minute of silence.

Nadiya N. Karlova made a report on the implementation of the decisions of the Academic Council in the academic year 2016-2017. Having heard and discussed the report of the Acting Scientific Secretary of the University, the work of the Academic Council was recognized as satisfactory.

V.V. Lesnova made a report on the approval of curricula and programs for the academic year 2017-2018. Having heard and discussed the report of the acting head of the Educational Department the curriculum for the academic year 2017-2018 was approved and adjustments were made to the curricula of some specialties.

The Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work D.V. Uzhchenko spoke about the competitive affairs. Scientists have been elected by secret ballot for vacant positions.

Among miscellaneous, journals, collections of scientific papers, monographs were recommended for publication, the topics of Ph.D. dissertations were approved, and the academic leave for the postgraduate student was granted.
