All-Ukrainian Scientific-Practical Conference

June 16, the University hosted the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference “Trends in the development of higher education in the conditions of a hybrid war in the East of Ukraine.”

The purpose of the Conference was to define and scientifically substantiate the trends in the development of higher education in the conditions of a hybrid war in the east of Ukraine.

The basis for defining the theme of the Conference was the pronounced transformational processes taking place in the content and technologies of higher education during 2014-2017 because of the military and information-psychological aggression in the east of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, as well as the need for their generalization.

The organizers and participants of the Conference were: the Rector of the University, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Serhii V. Savchenko; Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology Olena Karaman; Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Oleksandr Meniailenko; Doctor of Sociological Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Philosophy and Sociology I.F. Kononov; Doctor of Science in Public Administration, Associate Professor, Director of the Institute of Public Administration, Management and Postgraduate Education V.V. Zablotsky; Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Educational and Methodological Department M.A. Semenov; Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Pedagogy I.S. Koteneva; other scientists, students and postgraduate students of the University of different fields of knowledge.

The co-organizers of the Conference were the permanent participants of our scientific events – scientific and pedagogical workers of the National University of Defense of Ukraine named after Ivan Chernyakhovsky (Kyiv): L.N. Budagyants, Candidate of Philosophy, Associate Professor; V.Zh. Bogaychuk, Candidate of Political Sciences; V.F. Vintonyak, Candidate of Psychological Sciences.

The Conference was also attended by guests included the chief specialist of the professional education and science of the Department of Education and Science of the Luhansk Regional State Administration A.M. Kozorezov and the Polish delegation led by Jan Peyril that in a difficult time for the university provided it with technical equipment that allows the University to use online -technology in the educational process and improve its quality.

So, thanks to this equipment, the Conference was broadcast online (in real time) around the world, as well as reportages from the conference were on the university Internet radio “University Wave”.

The Conference was also attended by honorary guests: servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, thanks to which the university has the opportunity to carry out educational, scientific and educational activities for the third year in a row in the native Luhansk region. For all of us, teachers and students, they are a vivid example of perseverance, courage, love for the Motherland and high moral qualities.

At the beginning of the conference Olena L. Karaman introduced the collective work of LTSNU scientists, which just was published – a collection of scientific works “Hybrid War in the East of Ukraine in an Interdisciplinary Dimension: Origins, Realities, Prospects for Reintegration” (under the general editorship by V. S. Kurylo, S. V. Savchenko, O. L. Karaman). This collection is the result of studies of the phenomenon of hybrid war that took place in the east of Ukraine, university scientists of different fields of knowledge – history, philosophy, sociology, political science, economics, education, psychology, social work, philology, journalism.

The reports of the conference participants were very informative and interesting. On the one hand, from the standpoint of the interdisciplinary approach, the theme of the hybrid war was revealed, its causes, main manifestations, consequences and means of counteraction; and on the other – the development trends of higher education in a hybrid war was covered.

In addition to direct participants, almost 100 scientists from all regions of Ukraine were presented to the organizing committee. All of them will be published in the profile publication “Visnyk of LTSNU”.

At the end of the Conference, the participants assured that thanking to such events we draw the world’s attention to the tragedy of the 20th century, which Ukraine is experiencing because of the military and information aggression of the Russian Federation; We lay the foundation for the comprehension and objective awareness of the essence of the hybrid war and its devastating influence on all spheres of society, state and individual life by society and the international community; We reveal the truth about the aggressor, thus countering its bellicose propaganda; We bring the leading role of national education, science and upbringing in the struggle for unity and sovereignty of Ukraine.
