Ukrainian Championship in Track and Field Athletics

At the beginning of June, the Ukrainian Championships in Track and Field Athletics among sportsmen with the limited possibilities took place in the city of Kropivnitsky.

The combined team of Luhansk region was represented by eleven athletes, including five athletes are students of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports of LTSNU.

In general, according to the results of the competition the team won 24 medals, 17 of them – gold, 5 – silver and 2 – bronze medals.

It should be noted in particular the good performance of our students: Pavel Bogatyryov (II year, specialty “Physical Education”) – bronze medal in the javelin throw, Oleksandr Romanchenko (II year, specialty “Human Health”) – bronze in the shot put, and second place in the discus throwing, Serhii Dvortsov (master student, specialty “Physical Education”), which became the undisputed champion by winning 3 gold medals: shot put, discus throwing and javelin throwing, and fulfilled the standard of master of sports of Ukraine, Timofii Holodov (IV year, specialty  “Sports”) – two gold medals in the shot put and discus throwing and Oleksii Svistun (III year, specialty “Human Health”), who won three gold medals in three disciplines and set a world record in discus throwing.

Athletes train on the basis of Luhansk regional sports center “Olimp” in the city of Kreminna under the leadership of the Honored coach of Ukraine Rimma Starostina and Oleg Chernobai.
