Regional Powerlifting Championship

Regional Powerlifting Championship (bench press) was held in sports complex “Olimp” on February 14, 2015.

The competitions were organized by Sports and Youth Welfare Department of Luhansk Regional State Administration, Regional Soviet “Spartak” and the Institute of Physical Education and Sports of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University with support of the people’s deputy of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Vitalii Semenovych Kurylo.

The teams from Lysychansk, Troitsk, Rubizhne and Kreminna Districts came to the competitions to “Olimp” gym. The participants were greeted by the Head of Sports and Youth Welfare Department of Luhansk Regional State Administration A.M. Volokhov; the Deputy Head of Kreminna District Soviet B.V. Rudenko; the director of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, Candidate of Sciences, Docent, Head of Regional Organization of Sports Association “Spartak”, Honoured Trainer of Ukraine Yu.M. Poluliashchenko; the Council of the Head of Luhansk Regional State Administration D.V. Denyshchenko; V.M. Kladko – the Assistant of the people’s deputy of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine V.S. Kurylo and the Director of “Olimp” Yu.B. Ishchenko.

The right to run up a state flag was given to the most titled sportsman of the competition – World champion – 2014, Master of Sports of International Class Mykola Barannyk from the city of Rubizhne, the student of IPES.

The prizewinners and the winners of the competitions were awarded with medals and diplomas of proper levels.

The 4-year student of “Physical Education” specialty Serhii Dvortsov obtained the gold award, having lifted 140 kg (under 59 kg weight class). The gold award was presented to the teacher of the Department of Olympic and Professioanl Sports Oleksandr Volodymyrovych Dubovoi with the result of 222.5 kg (weight class of under 120 kg raw).
