Students Raised Money for the Soldiers of ATO

The students of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University raised about one thousand hryvnias for the needs of ATO soldiers.

They jointly with one of the private entrepreneurs organized the action of prizes-for-all lottery at Maslenitsa festival. All interested received presents and made their contribution to the common goal. Many of the attendants just put money to the container even without participation in the lottery. And these were children who with pleasure chose lottery tickets and received their prizes.

Soldiers of the military units that were in Starobilsk joined the action too. They gave money with the words: “For our brothers!” Even though they didn’t want any awards the insistent students presented them blue-and-yellow balloons.

Such way of celebrating Maslenitsa is significantly different from the traditional one, – noted at the university. “Last year we held pancake fair, master-classes in its cooking and that sort of thing. This year everything is different, of course. Now we help our Army if only we could come back to native city and university”, – told at the rectorate of the evacuated LNU.
