The May classes of the School of Creative Growth took place at the Starobilsk branch of the Regional Center for Vocational Education of LTSNU.

The lesson was held in the form of a scientific and methodical kiosk on the topic “Formation of professional competence of qualified workers” with the participation of teachers of the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism, the LTSNU College. Improving the quality of vocational training of skilled workers is conditioned by the needs of the modern labor market, the need for such specialists and members of society that are able to adapt to new requirements clearly and quickly, adequately respond to new challenges, learn throughout life, develop and create.

The event was opened by the Head of the Department of Production Technologies and Professional Education, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Assistant Professor V.V. Burdun, who determined the urgency and priority of the problem of forming the competence of graduates of Vocational schools. In his speech Viktor Vasylyovych drew attention to the concept of “competence”, which depends on the personal qualities of the person, his temperament, character, intellect, abilities and inclinations, his values, beliefs, needs, motives of activity. He noted that responsibility, conscientiousness, creativity, interest in the results of the work, positive motivation, initiative are needed to carry out any activity and are so appreciated by modern employers.

A purposeful solution of tasks that contribute to the formation of key life competencies of students is implemented through integration, therefore, the pedagogical capabilities of integrated and binary lessons that combine the activities of teachers of various disciplines, masters of industrial training and students were considered. The head of the School – methodologist of the Starobilsk branch and chairmen of the methodical commissions simulated and presented a professional mobile worker who is competitive in the labor market. Masters of industrial training – V.I. Butkov, S.V. Butko, V.A. Popilnukha, E.E. Kolesnikova, S.N. Goncharov presented the structure of the future skilled worker’s work, the requirements for his personality.

During the event, important conditions were also highlighted for ensuring the effective development of the teacher’s professional competence as an indicator of professional growth in the modern educational space. All the participants were able to exchange their impressions and received booklets with methodological recommendations on forming the professional competencies of the future employee through studying and taking into account the life experience of the student, his interests, developmental features, teaching him to think and act independently.
