“The Figurative Word of Luhansk Region”

On May 26, the XVI All-Ukrainian Scientific-Practical Conference named after Viktor Uzhchenko “The Figurative Word of Luhansk Region” was held in the city of Starobilsk.

The scientific-practical conference provides a solution of relevant linguistic, literary and methodological issues related to linguistic and cultural space of historic and modern Lugansk region in the All-Ukrainian context of the development of artistic expression, folk poetic art, scientific writing and journalism. These problems are of interest to many scientists and researchers, as evidenced by the broad geography of the conference participants.

The conference was attended by prominent scientists and novice researchers, representing, in addition to Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University such universities as Mykolaiv National University after V.O. Sukhomlynsky, Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, Kryvyi Rih National University, Kharkiv National Automobile and Highway University, Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatyuk National Pedagogical University, Berdyansk State Pedagogical University, Kyiv National Linguistic University, Kharkiv National University of Construction and Architecture, Cherkasy National University named after Bogdan Khmelnitsky, Kadievka Pedagogical College of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University (Lysychansk city).

The conference issues attracted attention of young scientists including postgraduate students, master students, young researchers and even pupils of secondary schools who experience themselves in the scientific field.

Teachers and pupils of Kreminna school-gymnasium, Perevalsk gymnasium No.1, Teplivska comprehensive school of I – III degrees of Stanichno-Luhansky district, Radolevska comprehensive school of I – III degrees of Primorsky district of Zaporizhzhia region could share their scientific observations.

Among the issues at the Conference were researches in the field of lexicography, dialectology, phraseology, linguistics and stylistics of the text, contemporary literature, text analysis, methods of teaching philological disciplines in educational institutions of different types.

The Organizing Committee congratulated the conference participants and wished fruitful cooperation, mutually beneficial partnership and the generation of new scientific ideas, hypotheses and their successful confirmation.

Despite the hard times in our country, the conference “The Figurative Word of Luhansk Region” and the publication of the same-named collection of scientific materials continue their traditions.
