Meeting of the Academic Council

The planned meeting of the Academic Council was held at the University.

There were two main issues on the agenda:

• the results of the Days of Science in the academic year 2016-2017;
• the conferment of academic titles.

At the beginning of the meeting, students who became winners and prizewinners of International, All-Ukrainian and regional competitions and olympiads, were awarded with certificates and received valuable gifts.

Olena M. Klimochkina spoke about the results of the Days of Science in the academic year 2016-2017. Having heard and discussed the report of the Vice-Rector on scientific and pedagogical work, the Academic Council noted that in all departments, faculties, institutes and other structural subdivisions, according to the program of the Days of Science, webinars, scientific conferences, readings, discussions, scientific and methodological seminars, classes, public protection of student scientific works, trainings, round tables.

The Days of Science were solemnly opened in all structural divisions of the University. 3 International, 6 All-Ukrainian, 10 regional and university scientific-practical conferences, 1 scientific-methodical seminar and 3 round tables were held.

Traditionally, the University held the first stage of the All-Ukrainian competition of student scientific works, for which 42 works were presented. The top 13 works were sent for participation in the II stage of the All-Ukrainian competition of student scientific works, according to the results of which 4 prize-winners were determined.

The collection “Scientific Search for Young Researchers” (social and pedagogical sciences) has been prepared and published. In most departments, the Days of Science are held in the form of student scientific conferences, other forms are rarely used, such as round tables, scientific discussions, master classes, public protection of student scientific works.

At the same time, the Academic Council noted that in the organization and holding of the Days of Science, scientific work with students there are shortcomings, including weak integration into the Ukrainian scientific field and weak activity of students in the work with scientific citation bases.

According to the results of secret voting the academic title of Associate Professor of the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University was given to Tetyana Koknova.

Among the miscellanea it was recommended to publish a monograph, educational-methodical manual and materials of the scientific-practical conference “Theory and practice of administrative activity in conditions of socio-cultural transformations.”
