Student of the IPES Vladislav Bondarenko set a record of the region in the Powerlifting Championship of the Luhansk region among men and women.

Competitions were organized by the Luhansk Regional Powerlifting Federation and were held with the support of the Management of Youth and Sports of the Luhansk Regional Administration and the Institute of Physical Education and Sports.

The Championship was once again held in the sports and recreation complex “Olimp” in the city of Kreminna.

The chief judge of the competitions, head of the Department of Sports Disciplines of the IPES S.M. Galliy noted that more than a hundred athletes from the cities of our region took part in the struggle for the championship medals: Bilovodsk, Kreminna, Lysychansk, Popasna, Petropavlivka settlement, Rubizhne, Severodonetsk, Starobilsk. In recent years, this is one of the highest indicators.

It is very pleasant that on the platform next to the experienced powerlifters who glorified the Luhansk region, there were newcomers and athletes of junior age. The teams of many cities have been headed by trainers, teachers and students of our institute for many years: V. M. Urban, A. M. Urban  – graduate of 2017 majoring in “Physical Education”, O.V. Dubovy  – teacher of the Olympic and Professional Sports Department, V.M. Dubovy  – teacher of the Sports Disciplines Department, M.V. Barannik  – master student majoring in “Physical Culture and Sports, Sports”, S.O. Parkhomenko – master student majoring in “Secondary Education, Physical Culture.”

Among the junior championship students, we should note the success of Vladislav Bondarenko, second-year student majoring in “Human Health”. In the exercise “deadlift” he showed the maximum for his weight category result – 265 kg. For today it is a record of the region among adult sportsmen. Unfortunately, in this weight category there was such a fierce struggle that, although having fulfilled the standard  of candidate for master of sports, Vladislav took the fourth place among the 16 participants. He did not have 2.5 kg before the prize-winning place.

The competitions ended with summing up, awarding winners and prize-winners in personal and team competitions. Once again, representatives of the public organization “Ukrainian Association of Participants of Combat Operations and Volunteers of the ATO of Starobilsk District” took part in the award ceremony (the head of the organization is a graduate of the IPES in 2017 N.O. Ivashko).
