On May 18, an educational event dedicated to the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Crimean Tatar Genocide was held at the Starobilsk Humanitarian and Pedagogical College and the College of LTSNU.
During the event, the students examined the historical prerequisites for the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people from the territory of the Crimea in 1944 and the return to their homeland in the early 90s. They also talked about the conditions in which the Crimean Tatars turned out as a result of the annexation of the Crimean peninsula in 2014. The impressive artistic and documentary shots about the horror, fear and pain of that time were represented for the audience.
The students honored the memory of the victims of deportation of the Crimean Tatar people with a minute of silence.
At the end of the event the song of Jamala was sounded. It is dedicated to these events, as a symbol of indestructibility and willpower of the Crimean Tatar people.
